Klondike Derby

Event Description The Klondike Derby is a Council planned and run event at Camp Birch. Teams of Scouts will compete in numerous events while travelling around a sled course at Camp Birch. Our Troop has three sleds and normally enters two or three teams. Team size is normally 6 Scouts per Sled. An Adult Scout Leader will prepare the Scouts and their sleds for this event. This is a Saturday event.

In conjunction with the Klondike Derby, our troop will also hold a winter camp-out. Details are in the notes section below.

Troop 71 typically runs at least one of the "villages" where the sled teams stop to perform a task.  Adult volunteers are needed to monitor the scouts as they perform the task and also judge the results.  Other adults are needed to escort the Troop 71 sled teams, if needed.

Scouts and scouters may partcipate in only the Klondike Derby or both the derby and overnight camping.
